Poe's Story

Poe and his brothers are currently residing at the adoption cattery at Petsmart Hilton Head Island (430 William Hilton Parkway). You can meet them during their retail hours.

Poe is one of three little boys (brothers Midnight and Shadow, also adoptable0 who were rescued from Shipyard Plantation on Hilton Head Island, along with their Mom, Sapphire (also adoptable), who looks to be a Russian Blue.

Like so many discarded cats on the island, their prospects were grim until a kind volunteer opened up her heart and home to the whole family. They have been getting the emotional and physical rehabilitation they so desperately needed. Although they all were shy to begin, they are doing GREAT.

Poe is the most outgoing and adventurous of the 3 kittens and we are starting to see his silly and fun side now. He is slowly beginning to see that humans can be great and is seeking out attention and a little bit of petting. As you can see from the video, his siblings sit and watch him and if he says it’s okay, it’s okay!

Poe will make a full recovery, he just needs a patient, kind furever family to let him blossom. We are looking for a feline-loving home with another (more outgoing?) kitten or cat in the house or it would be incredible if he could adopt with one of his brothers or Mom.

He is about 4 months old, fully vetted, neutered and has excellent litter box habits.

Won’t you give him a shot at life? INDOOR HOMES ONLY! Outside living was not kind to our little Poe and he has no desire to go back to that struggle.

To adopt Poe, please fill out our required application, which can be found here:

https://form.jotform.com/253063262987161

For the safety of all of our animals, a home check (in person or video) is also a requirement of adoption, but we make that as unobtrusive and convenient as possible.
