However, despite his claims, it is best that he sticks with cat food and cat treats.<br/><br/>Poe loves playtime in the mornings and again at night before bed. He likes to sleep with his favorite human in the house, but is quick to get up and eat breakfast, and engage in morning playtime. He also loves his heated bed, preferring to nap in it in close proximity with his housemates- but sometimes prefers a lap!<br/><br/>Poe has had most of his teeth removed due to stomatitis, and he is FIV positive. He currently takes medication for the inflammation and mouth pain, but is living a happy, active life.<br/><br/>Poe is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV, but positive for FIV. The virus can't be given to humans, and doesn’t spread easily between cats, so they can safely live with FIV-negative cats​. We often house them together at Cat Town! With simple care, FIV-positive cats thrive. Keeping them indoors, feeding a balanced diet, and scheduling regular vet checkups (about every six months) helps them stay happy and healthy for years to come.
