Pistol Pete's Story

Meet Pete! This sweet, wobbly 4 year old boy is looking for a forever home that will love and understand his special needs.

Pete has a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia, a neurological disorder he was likely born with that affects his coordination and balance. It’s non-painful, non-contagious, and doesn’t worsen over time — it just means Pete has some extra wiggles when he walks and focuses. He eats and drinks just fine on his own and uses a litter box like a pro (as long as it’s high-sided or covered — no automatic litter boxes for this guy).

Pete is incredibly friendly and affectionate. He loves to cuddle, nap in cozy spots (cat huts, small crates, the bottom of a cube shelf — he's not picky), and snuggle up in your lap. He’s calm when resting, making him a great movie night companion. He also loves silvervine (alternative to catnip), goes crazy for it!

He does well with both cats and dogs when introduced slowly and respectfully. He hasn’t been around many children, so we recommend a home without small kids. Not because he isn’t sweet — he absolutely is — but because he uses his claws to stabilize himself, which could accidentally scratch.

What Pete Needs:

-A covered or high-sided litter box
-Weighted or no-spill food/water bowls (like an EZPZ mat)
-A quiet, understanding home
-Lots of soft blankets and cozy hidey spots
-A human (or two!) who appreciates just how special he is

Pete may wobble, but he’s steady when it comes to love and loyalty. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind companion with a heart of gold, Pete might just be your perfect match.

You can send inquiries to our adoptions team at muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application

Pete is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. HIs adoption fee is $75.
