Meet Pirate A Remarkable Little Survivor Looking for His Forever Home<br/><br/>Pirate was adopted in October 2025, but through no fault of his own, he is once again searching for his perfect forever family.<br/><br/>His adopter absolutely adores him, and this decision has been heartbreaking. Unfortunately, Pirate's energetic, playful nature has become too much for her senior cat. Wanting the very best for both pets, she knows the kindest choice is to find Pirate a home where he can truly flourish.<br/><br/>Pirate is completely blind, but don't tell him that! His blindness has never slowed him down. He runs, plays, explores, wrestles with toys, and fills every day with curiosity and joy. Once he learns the layout of his home, he confidently finds his food, water, litter box, favorite sleeping spots, and the people he loves. His hearing, whiskers, and sense of smell are so finely tuned that you'll often forget he can't see.<br/><br/>Pirate's story began with incredible hardship. He was discovered under a house with 15 other kittens. The runt of the litter, he had already endured more than any kitten should. One eye had been destroyed after being attacked by ants, and the other had been severely damaged. Despite such a heartbreaking start, Pirate proved to be a true survivor.<br/><br/>Eventually, his remaining eye detached and had to be removed. Because he had very little vision from such a young age, he adapted amazingly well to life without sight. Today, he does everything a sighted cat does—and he does it with confidence.<br/><br/>Pirate is playful, affectionate, incredibly snuggly, and loves listening to birds and the sounds of the outdoors. He has a gorgeous coat that seems to get softer every day and, although he has grown quite a bit since entering rescue, he'll likely remain on the smaller side as an adult.<br/><br/>His foster mom believes Pirate would thrive in a home with another young, playful cat that enjoys wrestling and chasing toys. He can play fetch !! He would also do wonderfully with someone who is home often and can spend time playing, cuddling, and interacting with him each day. Pirate is a very social little guy and doesn't enjoy being alone for long periods.<br/><br/>Because Pirate cannot see, we have generally recommended a home without dogs to ensure his safety. However, we've recently discovered something very special—Pirate has formed a wonderful friendship with a gentle 5-month-old foster puppy named Lina! The two love to play together, and their adorable friendship has shown us that Pirate may do well with the right canine companion. Any dog in his new home would need to be calm, gentle, tolerant of cats, and introduced carefully.
