PIONEER's Story

OCTOBER 2025

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email.

It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life.

The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old.

PIONEER and his 5 siblings were found in the rough streets of Riverside, CA. The rescue lady kept them safe until she could find a rescue to take them. And unfortunately it had to be quick because the lady was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

PIONEER: The Resilient Talker Looking for His Furever Home!

PIONEER is a special boy with a story of resilience and heart. Found with his five siblings on the rough streets of Riverside, California, their journey to safety was a challenging one. They were initially scooped up by a wonderful, kind-hearted lady who kept them safe. Tragically, she was soon diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, meaning their time with her had to be cut short so she could focus on her health.

Our rescue organization stepped in to ensure these kittens continued their journey to finding loving homes, and now PIONEER is ready for his next chapter with you! (As a tribute, he and his siblings were named after the very streets in the area where they were saved from).

A Heart That Blooms with Patience

When you first meet PIONEER, he may seem a little shy or reserved, and might even shy away briefly. He values his privacy and takes a moment to assess new situations and people. But don't let that fool you! His initial shyness is simply a defense mechanism from his tough start in life, and it fades quickly with just a little patience and reassurance.

Once he knows you mean pets and affection, his true, charming personality shines through! He has a most endearing way of getting your attention: he'll meow and do this cute little dance to let you know he's ready for some love. He absolutely adores being petted and craves gentle human touch.

The Life of the Party (In His Own Way!)

PIONEER is a cat who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to tell you! He's a true talker and will happily meow away to have a conversation, especially when it comes to the things he loves most. You'll hear his excited meows as soon as he sees his wet food being served – a delicious treat he can't get enough of!
He's a playful boy who loves batting his toys around, and he enjoys the simple pleasures in life, like lounging comfortably in his very own hammock. He's also a social butterfly in the cattery, loving to come out of his quiet space to interact and play with the other cats. If you already have a friendly cat sibling at home, PIONEER would likely be thrilled to have a companion!

PIONEER is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / TABBY MIX. He is about 4 years old and 11 months is good with cats and non-reactive to dogs. In his foster home, he was around other kittens and older cats. He has been around older children.

PIONEER is currently at our rescue in Hemet, California.

ADOPTION PROCESS:

1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT)
2. It does not mean they don't have other pending applications or meet and greets.

Please note: Just because you fill out an application and are approved does not obligate you to adopt the cat/kitten. If he or she is not a fit...we have plenty of other cats / kittens available for adoption.

We are a SMALL rescue based out of Hemet, California. We are all volunteers that run the rescue. If we haven't reached out....be patient.

PIONEER is ALREADY fully vetted.
The adoption fee of $200 covers:

Neuter
FVRCP shots
RABIES shot
FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative)
Drontal Dewormer
Stronghold Flea Control
Microchip

We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens. So, we do not do DISCOUNTS.

If for some unfortunate reason you missed out on the kitten/cat you emailed about...I'm sure that we could help you with another rescue baby! Just ask!

If you have any questions not covered here, please feel free to email us:

Workinwhiskers2020@hotmail.com
