Pie's Story
WANTED: Retirement home for a very smart, very snuggly, very sweet old cat named Pie.

Let's get one thing out of the way, Pie is old. Very old. Pie is a charming 17 year old cat who is looking for a soft place to call home. He is in "remarkably good body condition for a cat of his age" according to the vet. However, there are some things you need to know about this old man before applying to adopt him.

Pie had major dental surgery in December and they had to remove 3 teeth, including both canines. He will likely need to be on wet food for quite some time. Before his surgery, blood work showed that he has mild renal disease and would benefit from renal pate wet food, which he eats with no complaints!

Pie was very matted when he was surrendered and allowed his foster mom to attempt a 'lion cut' to allow him to move and groom himself easier. It's a little patchy, but his hair is already growing back! Pie will likely require assistance with grooming in the future, perhaps from an expert cat groomer if looks are important to you.

Pie's dream home would have an electric heated cat bed, litter box, and wet food bar all on the same level of the house. He can jump onto the couch and can do stairs, but he's old and is slow on the stairs.

Okay, now that you know what you'll be getting into, let's chat about all the good things that make Pie amazing. He's a snuggler and if he sees his foster mom heading towards the couch and fuzzy blanket, he will race her to prepare for snuggles. He LOVES pets, scritches, and will adorably paw at your hand if he's not done getting attention.

If Pie needs something, he will chirp at you. He has figured out that the wet food is kept in the refrigerator and will follow you into the kitchen and patiently wait for dinner, no matter what time it is. Pie has chirped and led his foster mom to the water bowl that had a pompom in it, once it was removed he happily drank his water. Pie is a respectable gentleman who knows what he wants and has the patience to train a new human.

He is such a good cat that deserves the best home in his twilight years. He has lived with cats and dogs and while he isn't interested in playing with the young whippersnappers, he will respect their space and he asks that they respect his. Pie would do well with older children, especially ones who like to read or play video games as he likes to curl up on your lap.

Pie is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and has had a fresh dental. All he needs is a warm retirement home to enjoy his days.
