Phoenix and Violet *pair*'s Story

What is better than one good looking gray cat? Two of them!

Meet Violet and Phoenix, a pair we didn’t expect but have loved watching grow and heal together none the less. Phoenix and Violet were both rescued from ACCT separately with the hope to get them the veterinary care they needed and find them their forever homes.

Phoenix is a ~ 1 year old male (gray and white) who was found on the streets of Philadelphia covered in awful burn wounds – some so bad his muscle and tissue were exposed. We were able to rescue him less than 24 hours before he was scheduled to be put down and with a lot of veterinary care, patience, and TLC he has fully recovered. While Phoenix will always hold the physical scars of the trauma he went through, he seems to hold zero emotional ones and loves to play, snuggle, and be anywhere you are (including napping on your printer and keyboard while you’re trying to attend meetings…).

Violet (all gray) we rescued a month or so after we started Phoenix on his healing journey. Violet was surrendered to ACCT as a stray with her 4 kittens. Despite the perils she must have gone through as a 1-3 year old young lady on the streets raising a family, she was a phenomenal mother and even adopted a solo stray kitten that had been surrendered to us. She raised her kittens to be so healthy, loving, and social that they were all adopted to great homes! Violet is now learning how to be a young cat again after motherhood and loves weaving between your legs for attention, enjoying her meals without having to share with her tiny vultures’ babies, and playing with toys. Violet is very afraid of dogs, so a home without dogs would be best, but she has formed an unexpected friendship with Phoenix.

Phoenix is still learning how to “cat” and was unsure of Violet’s friendship attempts at first but has slowly learned that playing is more fun when there’s 2 of you and cat siblings can groom the spots on your face and back that you can’t reach. We would LOVE to find a home for these two young cuties together.

Both of them are fixed, microchipped, felv/fiv negative, dewormed, flea/tick/HW prevention treated and UTD on their FVRCP and Rabies vaccines. Please talk to the office staff or email us at info@springhouseah.com to inquire more about the adoption process.

If you would like to support more of our rescue efforts but cannot adopt, you can always give our office a call at 215-643-8600 and ask about donating to our Angel Fund.
