If there is a resident cat in the home, a slow and proper introduction will be necessary, and that cat should be friendly and open to sharing space--senior or low-energy cats may find Petrie's activity level overwhelming. They would likely do well with a cat-friendly dog. Children in the home should be over the age of 5 and able to respect their boundaries by giving them space when needed.
