Petey (22-217)'s Story

Poor Petey has been adopted and returned twice because of what I call is he gets "hangry" and overstimulated. When he gets hungry he will attack your ankles or your forehead if you're laying in bed. To avoid that as his foster mom I offer dry food all the time. The only other time I've noticed him do it is if he is over stimulated by me rubbing his belly and getting him worked up. I was able to easily redirect his behavior by telling him no and pushing him away, and focusing his attention on something else. He is great with other cats. When he was originally found roaming a trailer park, he was with a little girl, who was hugging him and dragging him around. He is a lovely cat and loves to snuggle and be kissed on the nose. He just needs someone who is not easily intimidated by him and will free feed him. He also had an undetected belly parasite and worms for quite a while that are now being treated that could have caused some of this behavior. He is only about two years old.
