Pete's Story

Stats:
Name: Pete
Nicknames; Peter, Sweet P, Pete the Cat, Peter Parker
Age: ~6 years old
Vaccines: Rabies, FVRCP
Parasites: treated for fleas, ear mites, and de-wormed as a precaution.
Neutered: yes
Microchipped: yes
FIV/FeLV: negative for both.
Cat expert level for adopter: beginner

Pete had a tough couple of years as an outside cat before being rescued. He was thin, his fur was falling out, and he had lots of minor injuries. Many of his teeth were also broken. It's a hard life outside for friendly cats like Pete. After a couple of months in foster care, he has a soft, full coat, has gained weight, and has had dental care. He's missing most of his fangs, but doesn't let a goofy smile slow him down.

Pete loves catnip, treats, and wet food. He also enjoys being brushed, playing with toys, butt bongos, and a nice, soft bed or blanket for a long nap. He doesn't mind being picked up and seems to tolerate brief belly rubs. He's truly a gentle giant weighing in at 19 pounds! He's a really happy guy and an excellent biscuit-maker.

Pete is estimated to be about 6 years old. He still has his tom cheeks, though they may shrink with time. He has a deep meow and will talk back to you when you talk to him. He'll also use that sweet voice to try to talk you out of more treats. He's very food motivated.

Pete would likely be best as an only cat, but he's been doing well with another foster brother. A slow introduction has been key. He seems pretty chill otherwise and his foster thinks he would do well in a home with children who are respectful of animals. It is unknown how he would do with dogs, but his foster thinks he would do okay with a mellow pooch.

Pete loves the dry Friskies cat food, but it doesn't love him back. He will need to stay on a high quality diet and avoid foods that have dyes in them as they upset his stomach. He will go to his new home with a week's supply of food (both wet and dry) and his favorite treats.

If you'd like to learn more about Pete or arrange a video call to meet him virtually, please send an inquiry about him! We will respond via email, so please check your email after inquiring.
