Percival's Story
Please visit ladybirdanimalsanctuary.com to apply to adopt

Percival!

AGE AT ARRIVAL: Approximately 5 years old
ARRIVAL DATE: November 13th, 2025
GENDER: Neutered Male
LOCATION: Hamilton, Ontario
ADOPTION FEE: $200
NOTES:
Percival was found as a stray and brought to Hamilton Animal Services. This poor guy was friendly, but he seemed shut down at the shelter. Staff did their best to comfort him during his time there, and they sent him for xrays to make sure there wasn’t something internal going on. Xrays showed a slightly swollen kidney, but nothing else seemed amiss. When nobody came forward to claim Percival, we were happy to get him out of the shelter.
We got Percival into the vet on his rescue day for a health check and blood work. The blood work came back normal and he seemed in good health otherwise, so we had him neutered. Everything went great for surgery, and now that Percival is healed from surgery, he’s ready for his forever home!

Here’s a note from his foster mom:
“Percival is such a chill guy!
He was a bit nervous right out of the shelter, but was snuggling within hours of coming home.
Percy loves cuddles and head skritches. He would be delighted if he could just be brushed all day! He isn’t too fond of being picked up, but will tolerate it for a few quick kisses. He will jump down when he has had enough.
He has just started playing a bit – it is hilarious watching him “stalk” his toys.
Percy is pretty quiet – doesn’t even ask for food, just waits patiently at his bowl until someone notices and feeds him.
So far he is content sleeping on the couch, but will come to the bedroom for a visit every night.
He is not shy around visitors, so as long as everyone in the house is calm and gives him space, he should be fine with older children. He has not met a dog yet.
Percy can be startled by loud noises (and pouring pasta into a pot, apparently), but just starts a bit and then is fine.
This chill boy is a delight to have around and will make a great friend to anyone who is lucky enough to scoop him!”

Please adopt Percival!
Visit ladybirdanimalsanctuary.com to apply
