Pepper's Story

Hi! I'm Pepper. I am a playful and affectionate kitty who would love a family that is familiar with cats. While I am a little cautious at first, once you gain my trust, you will always have a little shadow. I would love to follow you around all day and at night, I would enjoy snuggling under the covers with you. Like many cats, I have two modes, playful and snuggly, and would appreciate not being pet while in play-mode. I am also an expert bug catcher and will help keep your house bug-free. I would do well in a quieter home with people who understand cat body language and cuddles. I hope I have convinced you to adopt me; my foster family thinks I am very sweet and wants me to find a good home!

Mountain Humane's Adoption Policy

Any visitor to the shelter interested in adopting one of the animals is asked to fill out a brief adoption application. In conjunction with the application, we interview all potential adopters with the goal of matching the right animal with the right family and lifestyle. This is of prime importance - we endeavor to make this new home the animal's residence for life! All adoptable animals are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. Fees are as follows: Puppies: $250 Dogs: $150 Senior & Special Needs Dogs: $75 Pure Bred Dogs w/AKC Papers: $500 Kittens: $100 (the second one is free!) Cats: $50 Senior or Special Needs Cats: $25 Barn Cats: $0 Ferret or Chinchilla: $50 Hamsters or Mice: $10 Rabbits: $25
