Pepita Seeks Playful+Confident Cat Sibling!'s Story
Pepita, lovingly called Pepa, is a special girl in a lot of ways. :) When I rescued Pepita, she only weighed about 4 pounds and was already over a year old. I thought she was a kitten! She was considered "underdeveloped". I suspect she was beat out for food by the other stray cats with her; she also had pyometra infection which likely impacted her development. Since being rescued, she's gained a few pounds and is a healthy and happy girl. Unfortunately, Pepita was not interacted with or touched early on so she is undersocialized. Pepa does not really like being pet but she does like to be involved in home going ons and she's a big fan of cream cheese and cheese. Pepa rarely hides and you can usually find her snoozing on a heating blanket or on my bed. She does sleep with me and against me but touch is on her own terms. When I can reach her, she likes chin scratches. :) I believe in a home where there are less cats and fewer things to focus on, she will have no choice but to become more interested in her humans. :) Though she may never be a lap cat, she is so funny, curious and playful and brings us a lot of entertainment and joy. I do think eventually she will enjoy being pet. Pepa does need to have a friendly cat sibling as other cats very clearly bring her comfort and she loves to snuggle, groom and wrestle other cats.

Pepa is a 2 year old spayed female cat. She is vaccinated FVRCP and rabies. She has been dewormed, flea treated and tapeworm treated. She is also microchipped. She will need her vaccinations done again in February 2026. She’s still a smaller cat and will likely remain around 6 pounds. Pepita uses the litterbox without issue and is not at all picky about food.

Pepita needs an adopter who is patient and willing to accept her being an undersocialized cat. I will always be available to adoptive parents to answer questions or assist with concerns. And if for some reason the adoption would not work out, we require Pepita be returned to us and not rehomed or surrendered to a shelter/rescue. We require all potential adopters to meet with us in our home to interact with Pepita and ask us questions. Interacting with Pepita will involve a lot of treat giving and playing. We are located in S Everett near Mariner HS. Pepita's adoption fee is $50.

If you’re interested in adopting Pepita, please complete the form linked below and I will be in touch.
