Pepe's Story

Pepe Le Pew is about 8 years old and was sadly surrendered after his owner passed away. Pepe is a tough nut - he doesn't like other pets, he doesn't like change, he absolutely doesn't want to do anything he doesn't want to do. He's not a huge snuggle bug, but he does enjoy being petted and hanging out with people. If you're cleaning or doing chores and other tasks, he likes to lounge nearby and watch what you're up to. He enjoys checking out boxes, playing with wand toys, judging birds out the window, and eating both crunchy treats and squeezy treats like Churu or Delectables tubes. It's been difficult for people to meet him because he gets cranky and unpredictable with other cats around, and he would be immensely happier the sooner we can get him out of the shelter environment and into a home. Overall, Pepe is a misunderstood boy with a lot of feelings that just needs a relaxing home where he can be the king (or at least be deluded into thinking that he is). He should live in an adults-only home as the only pet. (All of our cats are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, de-wormed, tested for FeLV/FIV, and treated for fleas before adoption) Our adoption application and policies can be found here: www.secondchancear.org/adopt-1

Second Chance Animal Rescue, Inc's Adoption Policy

The Adoption Fee is $120 for cats and kittens, $80 for senior cats (age 10+). Every cat has been spay/neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations as required by age (FVRCP and Rabies). To be considered as an adopter, you must: - Be the intended owner and primary caretaker – no third party adoptions are allowed - Be 21 years of age or older - Have identification showing your present address - Have the knowledge and consent of your landlord (if applicable), present proof or we can call - Have the knowledge and consent of all members of your household - Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide medical treatment and proper care of the cat - Currently own only spayed and neutered pets that are up-to-date on their vaccinations (special circumstances may apply) - Agree that you will not declaw the cat Our adoption application can be filled out and submitted right on our website at www.secondchancear.org (click the "Adopt" tab toward the top of the homepage, then scroll down to the "Online Adoption Application" button).
