Pennywise's Story

Pennywise appeared on the shelter's property just before Halloween as a stray. Sadly, no one ever came forward to claim him. Because of the timing of his arrival, he was given a Halloween-inspired name, but rest assured that he is not scary like his namesake. Instead, Pennywise is a quiet, intriguing presence.

He is estimated to be around 5 years old, which means he's well past the wild kitten stage. His background is a mystery, but his future is full of potential. Pennywise is destined to become someone's very own house panther, since he's sleek, observant and dignified.

When Pennywise arrived, he needed a fresh start. He has since been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is now ready for a forever home. We would love nothing more than for Pennywise to leave the shelter and start the New Year in a new home where he belongs.

A few important things to know about Pennywise:
* He does very well with other feline-friendly cats after a proper introduction
* He would do best in an adult only home where they can read feline body language and respect his need for space
* He is not a fan of being picked up, so if you're looking for a cat to carry around or keep in your lap, Pennywise is likely not the one for you
* He is independent and prefers companionship on his own terms

Pennywise would be a wonderful fit for someone looking for:
* A feline pal for a resident cat
* A low-key feline roommate to share space with
* A cat who adds presence, personality and quiet life to an otherwise empty-feeling home

If you appreciate independent spirits, quiet companionship and the beauty of a sleek black cat who doesn't demand attention but values coexistence, Pennywise may be exactly who you've been waiting for. Let's help this handsome house panther ring in the New Year from the comfort of a loving home.

The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
