Meet Penny!<br/><br/>Still the absolute sweetest tuxedo cat you’ll ever meet, and one of my favorite cats I’ve fostered! Everyone who’s met her has fallen in love with her. She’s a quiet and curious lady, and loves watching the birds and squirrels through the window. She LIVES for a good ray of sunshine and will not let that pass by! She was a little cautious at first, so she may need some time and space to get comfortable, but that goes by quickly once she warms up and trusts you. She LOVES to be petted and will get as much attention as she can, and I think she’s secretly trying to become a snuggle bug because she likes to be wherever I am and will join me on the couch. She’s a solid conversationalist, and will greet you when she sees you, will talk back to you if you talk to her, and lets you know where she is if you call her name. She’s okay with a brush if you introduce it slowly, but likes to watch where your hands are so she isn’t surprised. She really enjoys playing with feather toys and wands, and will squeak to let you know when she thinks it’s time to play! She has the cutest quirks, like stretching out when she walks or plopping on her side to knead the air after she gets pets. She’s got some serious plop game!<br/><br/>She knows when she’s getting wet food and is great at eating and drinking—no problems self-regulating here! She does still get scared with a lot of sudden movement or loud noises, and she is watchful of fast-moving hands or feet, but she will gently let you know if you’re approaching too fast or if she needs more space. I think she’s been through some tough circumstances, but has so much love to give and is ready to give it to someone who is patient and can take things at her pace!<br/><br/>Sometimes she doesn’t give cues when she’s overstimulated (usually a small nibble or a gentle swat), so I’d recommend her being with someone who has prior experience with cats or at least knows when to let her cool down for a bit. I really think she’d benefit from having another cat(s) as company. She’s been in a home with dogs before, so she may do well with a cat-savvy dog given proper introductions; she’s a pretty calm lady, so I think a calmer dog would be just her style! I’m not sure about how she’d do around kids; I think older kids would be fine if they can respect her space and boundaries, but younger kids might be too much fast movement and noise for her.<br/><br/>Overall, she’s a really wonderful cat. Very quiet, easygoing, and loving girl who is endlessly entertaining with her inquisitive and funny personality!
