Penny's Story

Penny was brought to the shelter by our Humane Agents after she was removed from a house after she and several other cats and dogs were left behind. She is about 9 months old. Poor Penny has been with us since December of 2024, so she has spent her entire kitten hood in the the shelter. She is super skittish at first and will usually hiss when people first approach her, but she is not at all mean Penny has obviously been traumatized from where she came from. She is definitely a slow thaw, but once you spend some time with her, she warms up and even loves to be held and cuddled. Penny should do well in a home with other animals and older children who know to go slow with her. We recommend very slow introductions and starting small with Penny in her new home so that she can adjust at her own pace. Penny is patiently awaiting her new home who will give this very special girl a chance to love her family!
