Penny (bonded with Jack)'s Story

MEET JACK & HIS MAMA PENNY!

Some cats come into rescue looking for a family. Jack and Penny already have theirs, they have each other.

This sweet mama and son duo came into our care and faced one heck of a battle together, fighting off the dreaded panleukopenia (cat parvo). They kicked its butt, came out the other side happy and healthy, and somehow became even more attached along the way.

Jack and Penny are the definition of a bonded pair. They cuddle together, groom each other, nap together, and genuinely seem to adore one another. If one is nearby, chances are the other isn't far behind.

Now, are they going to let you scoop them up and carry them around like furry little babies?

Absolutely not. They have boundaries, thank you very much.

Neither is a huge fan of being picked up, but they DO enjoy pets, treats, companionship, and all the important business that comes with being a cat. You know, the lounging, bird watching, supervising the household, finding the best nap spots, and silently judging whatever you're doing.

We would love, love, love to find Jack and Penny a home together. They've already been through so much side by side, and watching the bond between them is incredibly special.

If you're looking for two cats who don't need to be carried around to show you they love you and you'd like the joy of watching this adorable little mother and son friendship every day, Jack & Penny may be exactly the pair you've been waiting for.

Besides, adopting a bonded pair means they already come with a best friend. You just get to join the club.

Thank you for your interest in adopting from us! We are an all volunteer, 501c3 animal rescue in southeast Michigan. Our mission is to place all of our animals in loving, permanent homes. You are not purchasing a pet from us; you are adopting a living, breathing, creature that deserves safety, love and care. Your answers on the application are assurance to us that the animals we care for are going to good, permanent homes. All of the information on the application is confidential. Feline adoption fees - $125 for kittens under 8 months, $100 if over 8 months, and $60 if over 9 years old. Canine adoption fees - $350 for puppies under 1 year, $300 if over 1 year, and $200 if over 7 years old. Foster-to-adopt and Adoption fees are non-refundable. We do not use a first-come, first-serve process when adopting out our animals. Instead, we focus on best fit for each individual animal. The process is intended to ensure a long-term successful adoption for both the family and pet. Dogs can live 10-15 years, and cats can live 15-20 years, so please make sure your lifestyle allows the time, patience, and ability to cover expenses your new pet will need over the years. Will you be travelling frequently, moving soon, or having children? Responsible pet ownership includes as-needed and routine veterinary care, quality food, preventatives, and other supplies. You must be at least 21 years old to adopt. All of our adoptable animals have had a complete veterinarian checkup. Our dogs and puppies are heartworm tested. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, and have received age-appropriate vaccines before going to their forever homes.
