Penny's Story
Penny and her sisters Lilith and Vera came to us in April of 2019. They were living outside of a car repair shop and sadly, the owners said they had to go. He was throwing rocks at them to try to get them to leave. Some of the workers at the shop would sneak them food and reached out to us to help this special family of kittens. They were around 5 months old when we rescued them and they have syndactyl paws. This means that many of their toes are fused together and many of their claws are not functional. The tricky part with this litter of kittens is that because they had grown up outside, they had almost no human interaction when they were kittens.

When we first took them in, we were able to pick them up and hold them but they were very scared. Because they were so shy, the shelter wanted to just fix them and release them to live outside. We felt like that would be a death wish for these kittens because they had no defenses with their deformed paws and claws. So we found an amazing foster mom willing to work with them and give them time to come out of their shells. And they've come a long way over the past year! They all sleep and cuddle with their foster mom every night! Because they've been together for so long, we are hoping and praying the right person or family comes along that wants to keep the 3 sisters together. They are completely inseparable!

A little bit about Penny:
Penny was the most outgoing from the start and things haven't changed! Penny loves to interact with people. She's curious about well, everything and she loves to play! She's incredibly affectionate and loves to spend time on the couch or in bed, making biscuits, purring, and head butting her person! Her sisters really look to her to take the lead so Penny leads them on all kinds of adventures, from jumping on the table to try to steal a little people food to watching birds out the window. Penny is a lovebug and she will definitely steal your heart!
