Penguin's Story
A volunteer writes:
Penguin, a pretty two year old tabby girl can not catch a break. She was with us few months ago with a "fresh" litter and some other kitties, left us and is back with one of the kittens as their owner was not able to take care of them anymore. Love is very important but feeling safe is paramount for cats. No wonder Penguin is a bit skittish although after prolonged sweet talks and tasty food, I was able to pet her before she decided to leave the scene for some alone time. Her only babe(Artic Fox), already adopted, is quite active and an impediment to interact with mom. He is all over the place, snatch her food, interrupts our encounter without mom saying a "word".... A real kid! Penguin did live with other cats but we do not know the nature of their relationship. I bet she would not mind to be the princess of a quiet house(with no boisterous children) and with new owners who understand that Penguin went through hard times. Penguin is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center.

What my friends at ACC say about me:
I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
Penguin tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Primary Color: Tabby Weight: 8.2lbs Age: 2yrs 3mths 1wks Animal has been Spayed
