Pebbles's Story

Meet Pebbles

Pebbles is a 1-year-old beautiful gray tabby shorthair with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. While she may be a little shy when meeting new people or exploring unfamiliar places, once she feels safe, her affectionate nature shines through. She enjoys quiet companionship, soft pets, and cozy spots where she can keep an eye on her favorite humans.

This sweet girl prefers to take things at her own pace, but patience is rewarded with purrs, head bumps, and loyal devotion. Pebbles would thrive in a calm home where she can build confidence and form strong bonds with her family. Her tender personality, expressive eyes, and loving spirit make her a truly special companion.

If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate cat who will blossom with kindness and understanding, Pebbles may be the perfect addition to your family.

Pebbles was exposed to the Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) in the past, and initially tested positive for FeLV. Her strong immune system has done an amazing job fighting it off, and her recent quantitative PCR test shows a low viral load (regressive infection). This means the virus is inactive, she is not actively shedding the virus, and she is expected to live a normal, healthy life. There is a low risk of the virus becoming reactivated, so Pebbles should live in a home as an only cat. To help Pebbles live a long, happy life, the following steps should be taken:

- Prevent severe stress by providing a stable, indoor-only environment.
- Avoid immunosuppressive drugs.
- Provide routine veterinary care to prevent secondary infections that could strain the immune system.
- Avoid raw food diets as they may contain bacteria or parasites.

Pebbles is current on vaccinations, is spayed and is microchipped.

Our adoption fee for one altered adult cat (1 year to 7 years old) is $85 which helps cover expenses (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchips, food, housing) for the homeless pets United Animal Friends rescues. There is a discounted adoption fee for a second cat that is adopted at the same time.

If you have any questions or to adopt a cat from United Animal Friends (UAF) an application must be filled out. Filling out this form does not obligate you to adopt, but gives us the information needed to make sure the pet is suited to your home.

From the Petfinder website (Petfinder.com) click the 'More About Us Button' and then click on the 'Adoption Application' button that will take you to the United Animal Friends website. Then follow the UAF website directions below:

From the United Animal Friends website: Select "Adoptable Cats" and pick the cat you are interested in. To apply to adopt, open the cat's profile, and click the gray "Apply for Adoption" button to get started.

The fastest way to get to the adoptable cat page is to copy and then paste this link into your browser: https://unitedanimalfriends.org/adoptable-cats/

A United Animal Friends representative will contact you soon after receiving the application form.

Help us save more lives by fostering a dog or cat.
