Pearl's Story

Hi, I'm Pearl and I'm about a year old!

I came to ReJoyceful pregnant many months ago - my mommy duties are done now and I'm moving on to become the best family cat I can be!

If I didn't say I have some challenges, I'd be lying, but I'm well worth the effort to earn my trust! You see, I wasn't always a bright and outgoing girl. When I got to the shelter, I was terrified and completely shut down. The sign on my cage read "look, but don't touch". I hid under my blankies all day. If you didn't know I was in my cage, you would have thought it was empty. I was an expert at disappearing myself. And then one day I started showing interest in playing with fingers through the bars, and watching the birds outside my window. I started making eye contact with shelter staff, and I started letting down all my barriers. Soon they started to allow me more space, an entire office to run! And that is where I blossomed into the beautiful, majestic, silly little creature I have become!

I love to play with toys, laser lights, anything you want to leave on the floor for me! I will toss them in the air and create my own little game of mousey fetch. I love to explore my surroundings, including watching the birds out the windows and greeting people walking through my space. I'm still mostly a look but don't touch kind of girl, but I will be a beautiful little living ornament in your home. I may never be a lap cat, but I promise to keep you endlessly entertained. I'm getting better and better everyday with trusting my people... The possibilities are endless here!

What I need:

- A home with adults and older children only - I need a quieter home with people who will respect my space.

- A home with another cat, especially a confident one who may even want to play with me!

- I may be ok with a calm dog or two.

- A family who will be patient with me and follow guidance from the rescue on decompression.

Interested in adopting me? A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for considering A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue for your new fur baby! If you are interested in one of our animals, please fill out an application on our website at www.rejoycefulrescue.com for that animal. Please allow up to 72 business hours after submitting your application for a response. Our application process is as follows: 1. After your application has been received and reviewed, the foster parent of the animal will reach out to see if you have any specific questions regarding the animal. Prior to setting up a meet and greet, we will complete a vet check to ensure all animals currently in your home are up to date on vaccines, spayed or neutered and in good health. 2. Once your application has passed a vet check, we will set up a time for a meet and greet. The meet and greet is no-obligation and simply allow the foster to meet you and for you to meet them! We always host our meet and greets on a "neutral ground" if there are other animals and ensure proper introductions are done to allow safety for all. 3. Last but not least, if we both decide you might be the perfect furever family, we will reach out to set up a time for a home check. The purpose of the home check is simply to ensure the animal is heading to a safe environment. If necessary, our foster may point out items that can cause health issues or potential safety issues. 4. Once this process has been completed and approved, our finalization team will prepare an electronic contract for your signature confirming the adoption. Our adoption fee is $450 for dogs and $175 for cats. We ask, whenever possible, the hand off of your new fur family member is to be done at a local Petsmart to allow us to receive additional charity dollars to help our foundation. Your foster family will provide more information on this. We appreciate your patience during the process and pride ourselves on the best possible placement for our fosters. Please note, our applications are not "first come, first serve" and we will review each application equally to ensure the best home is selected for our animals. If you have any questions at any time, please email info@rejoycefulrescue.com.
