Peanut (from the coffee litter)'s Story

Peanut
Est DOB 6/26
Adoption fee $225

Peanut is a little kitten with a huge personality! He is always underfoot, following his people around and staying close by whenever he can. If you sit down, Peanut will be right there hoping to be held, cuddled, and included in whatever you are doing.

He is also incredibly playful and loves to keep busy. Whether he is chasing toys, wrestling with his siblings, or exploring his surroundings, Peanut brings plenty of energy and fun wherever he goes. He and his brother Kona are probably the runts of the litter, but Peanut certainly does not let his small size hold him back.

Peanut came to LapCats after being rescued from a hoarding situation where cats were allowed to breed out of control. He and his siblings were living outside in deplorable conditions, with no clean water and very little protection from the dangers around them. Their food was covered with flies, and they were ridden with fleas and tapeworms. Kittens were continually being born into an environment where they were at risk of being hit by cars or becoming prey to coyotes.

Peanut is believed to be part of what may have been the second, possibly even third, litter born this year. Despite the conditions he came from, he is a loving, playful little boy who deserves a safe and happy life with a family who will adore his big personality.

Like his siblings, Peanut is a social kitten who needs a feline companion. He should be adopted with one of his siblings or into a home with another cat who is close to him in age and has a similar playful temperament. Kittens need the companionship of another cat for play, social development, and comfort, and Peanut would love to have a friend by his side.

He has already come a long way. Now he just needs a family who will appreciate his playful spirit, enjoy his constant companionship, and show him what a safe and loving home is supposed to be.

The first step in our adoption process is the application which can be found on our website lapcats.org.

All of our cats have tested negative for FELV and are vaccinated. If they have been rescued as kittens under 4 months, they will not have a rabies vaccine. They have not only been spayed or neutered but have also been treated for worms, fleas, and have been micro chipped.

We will register their microchip for you, provide you with a free exam visit to a participating Sacramento veterinarian, and a goodie bag! We do not do out of state adoptions for the safety of our cats.
