Peanut Butter's Story

Peanut Butter is a resilient girl who has transitioned from a terrified foster to a sweet, playful friend. After enduring her own losses, she stepped up to mother four orphaned kittens, saving their lives with her endless supply of love. Now that her "foster mom" duties are officially over, she has decided it is finally her turn to be the star of the show.

While she started her journey as an extremely fearful girl, Peanut Butter has blossomed into a quirky and affectionate companion. She has a signature move where she’ll throw her favorite toy high into the air and catch it herself, showing off a playful side her foster family once thought they might never see. When she’s feeling extra happy, she’ll flop over and start kneading the air with her paws, earning her the title of the household's premier air-biscuit professional.

She is still a polite lady who appreciates a little etiquette from her humans. She likes to give your hand a quick sniff first, and once she gives you a "nudge" of approval, she is all in for gentle head scritches. Although she has become much more friendly, she remains a sensitive soul who is still a bit skittish around loud noises or sudden movements.

Because of her past and her need for a predictable environment, Peanut Butter is looking for a quiet, patient, and adult-only home where she can continue to gain confidence at her own pace. After spending so much of her life caring for others, she has decided she wants to be the only cat in the house so she can soak up every bit of your attention for herself. If you are looking for a resilient, sweet, and slightly goofy girl who just needs a little time to shine, Peanut Butter is waiting to meet you.

This cat would prefer to be adopted alone and be the only cat in the home.

Thanks for your interest in adopting! During these difficult times adoptions are moving very fast and we are working to respond as quickly as possible to get our cats into their forever homes. There is a chance that the cat you are inquiring about may already have an application, but we will do our best to find you the perfect fit. At this time we can only process adoptions to Brooklyn and nearby areas of Queens and Manhattan at this time. Applications from other boroughs and states will not be processed. All of our adoptions are happening as foster to adopt: you'll begin by fostering with the intention to adopt if all works out. As always, we DO NOT adopt out single kittens and any applications for a single kitten will be ignored. No need to follow up via email or phone -- we promise that we are working as fast as possible to get our cats home! More information on adoption available here: www.catcafebk.com/adoption
