Peanut 's Story

**NOTE: All AVA kittens under 12 months of age MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another young cat. AVA does not accept applications for single kittens**

***Peanut and his brothers were born to cats that congregated in a recycling plant and were reproducing at a rate that was unsustainable. Now in foster, Peanut has blossomed into his confident and playful self, helping his shy brother Pinkie to trust humans and hanging out with Pineapple. He would love to be adopted with Pineapple if possible, who has become his sidekick and play buddy. And if Pinkie can join in too, well then, the three mouseketeers can face new adventures together! All for one, and one for all!!

Peanut is a handsome dark grey kitty with a soft, fluffy haircoat and luxuriant ear tufts. He took little time to assess the new situation, then settled right in to enjoy all the comforts of home. In the process, he helped his brothers to bridge their nervous fear of close human proximity, and learn that people are not so bad after all if they are offering yummy food and yummier treats every day!

Just like his brothers, Peanut is a foodie and can’t wait for his daily canned food and may nip your ankle gently to hurry you along when meals are being prepared. It seems that to Peanut, all the food in the house is not enough, and he can happily gobble up whatever is put in front of him!

Peanut is now more or less used to people and can be picked up if approached slowly and gently. Then he nuzzles in close for cuddles, and your heart melt into a gooey puddle. There’s no defence against Peanut’s adorableness!

Peanut enjoys watching his siblings play with the laser, but he prefers to chase after a good crinkle ball or roughhouse with his brothers. He loves to watch birds in the yard and will occasionally crash into the glass door thinking he can run through it and catch one!

It’s useless to resist Peanut’s charms, and why would anyone try?! He is ready for his forever family, and having brothers Pineapple and/or Pinkie along would simply double up the fun, laughter and love!

Would you like to make Peanut, and maybe his brothers too, a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months old. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.

All AVA kittens 12 months or younger must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat (3 years or younger). Kittens learn from each other how to behave, which helps them turn into well-adjusted adult cats. In general, paired cats have happier and healthier lives because they have a constant companion and playmate. Plus, it's twice the fun for you, and half the work!
