Peach Cobbler (L) and Tuna Fish (R)'s Story

Peach Cobbler and Tuna Fish came to us from the Oakville colony, where these two have always been a little team of their own. Peachy is Tuna’s aunt and the two are almost never far apart. Whether they’re curled up together, tucked away in a cozy hiding spot, or quietly watching the world around them, they find comfort and confidence in each other.

Both Peachy and Tuna are shy and will need a little patience while they learn that people can be trusted but there are already glimpses of the sweet cats underneath their cautious exterior.

Tuna is a 1-year-old boy who can be won over with a Churu and some gentle, quiet time. He may hiss if he feels cornered or threatened. With patience and positive experiences, we believe he’ll continue to come out of his shell.

Peach Cobbler is a 1.5-year-old girl who is equally cautious but incredibly sweet and soft. While she may be nervous at first, she tolerates gentle pets and is slowly learning to enjoy the attention. Once she feels safe, you can see just how special this beautiful girl is.

Peachy and Tuna are looking for a quiet home together where they can settle in at their own pace and continue learning what it means to have a family. They may not be the cats who greet you at the door on day one, but they are the kind of cats whose trust is incredibly rewarding to earn.

If you have the patience to let these two sweet souls blossom together, Peach Cobbler and Tuna Fish would love to find their forever home with you.

Peach Cobbler is FIV-positive (FeLV negative), while Tuna Fish is FIV/FeLV negative. Both are fully vetted and ready for their forever home. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They also do extremely well with other cats, so a home with friendly feline companions is absolutely an option. A respectful dog is also fine.

Despurate House Cats's Adoption Policy
The application process for adopting from our cat rescue includes several important steps: Application Form on Website: You must fill out an application form available on the rescue's website. This form will ask for your personal details, your home environment, and other relevant information about your lifestyle and preferences to help match you with a suitable cat. Vet Reference: You are required to provide a reference from your veterinarian. This helps the rescue ensure you have a history of responsible pet ownership and good veterinary care for your previous or current pets. Landlord Reference (if leasing): If you rent your home, you will need to provide a reference from your landlord. This confirms that you have permission to have a cat in your rental property and ensures that the living conditions are suitable for adopting a pet. Home Visit: As part of the adoption process, a home visit will be conducted. A representative from the rescue will visit your home to ensure it’s a safe and appropriate environment for a cat. This visit will also include meeting your current pets to assess if they will get along with the new cat. The rescue wants to ensure that the new addition to your family will be compatible with your existing pets and that everyone will feel comfortable and safe. Once all these steps are completed and reviewed, the rescue will make a decision about your application.
