Paxton's Story
Paxton desperately wants you to care about him!
He had a rather rough start after his owner died and he ended up at the shelter. It took him a long time to come out of hiding and even then he was a pretty shy cat, but he got a lucky break when an older man who lived alone adiopted him.
From what we know, they both bonded and thrived together and Paxton was this man's dear friend and only companion until recently. Then fate had it's way and took Paxton's closest buddy, and for the second time in several years, Paxton lost his cherished home.

So he was returned to the shelter--again, and this is what the man's brother had to say about him:

"I've never met a cat like Paxton before, he’s a very rare, intelligent, affectionate, soft and kind being. He provided affection, comfort and emotional support for my disabled brother for two wonderful years. In the last 6 months or so, he lay by his side when he was in the most pain and distress. He looks at you with these penetrating eyes full of wonder and grace. He has been a blessed companion to my brother in his solitary life and given so much more than he takes. He has provided a deep friendship and bond that continued to comfort my brother until the end of his life. For that I am extremely grateful for Paxton’s presence.

Since Paxton has come back to the shelter he is pretty lonely, but he's been friendly and much more social than previously, he's a talker, so if there's someone out there who would like an exceptional cat, I hope you will get in touch soon.

My name is Laura and I'm the shelter Director, you can reach me on my cell phone at (641) 919-1289 call or text.
Paxton is about 5 years old, he's a neutered male, orange and white short hair. He's very healthy and can get along with a single cat, but would prefer to be alone.
