Pavlova's Story

Friday the 13th of June 2025 didn't bring me any deranged killers to my door, but I did receive the following email, with some disturbing advice attached:
"My boyfriend and I found a young stray cat about a week ago. She was hiding under a car crying but came out and greeted us. At first, we thought she was lost so we took her to the vet to see if she was chipped. She wasn’t so we took her home and I took her to the vet the next day to find out that she’s in heat which was why she was so affectionate. We’ve combed through lost pet boards to double check that she isn’t lost, and we didn’t see anything.
We have a resident cat already and are renters so we can’t keep her. As she’s been coming out of heat, we’ve learned that she is still super sweet, playful and curious. I called the local shelter, and they told me to put her back where we found her but all that’s going to happen is she’s going to end up pregnant at 7 months old. I would love it if someone could take care of her and find her a loving home."
Thank goodness Kristin didn't listen to such appalling gibberish and contacted us; I arranged for intake the following Monday and soon discovered that she WAS INDEED PREGNANT (in the early stages) when I spayed her. Crisis avoided.

Pavlova rested and recuperated under my care, and I can say that immediately I was drawn to how social and outspoken this one-year-old was (born in the summer of 2024). She has opinions and isn't afraid to share them in the least, but she is as sweet as her name alludes to - in the right circumstances - and I have witnessed it myself each time she visited me at the clinic.

Pavlova will most definitely do best as an only pet. She is not a fan of the other cats and is not afraid to let everyone know that! She has been seen playing with the younger more playful cats, but she quickly decides that when she is done, she's done. She would be a great companion for anyone who would spend the time showing her that she doesn't need to feel threatened. She is not aggressive; she just doesn't know how to express herself without a swat or growl. We feel once she is in her very own home, she will quickly become a very sweet girl. She deserves to be spoiled and pampered, and will keep you company with lots of talk as she is a vocal gal.
