Pause's Story

The need to PAUSE…..

When we heard about the need for a family to foster a young cat with special needs, we had to pause for a moment to assess our ability to provide care for this adorable cat. Pause had literally wandered out of a cornfield with a list of concerns. He was sneezing and wheezing, his ribs were showing, his mewing (in between sneezes) was a muffled squeak, and his left eye was swollen and nearly shut.

It was determined that Pause’s issues had a treatable cause. Untreated, his Feline Herpes Virus was causing his respiratory and vision issues. With treatment, Pause can lead a full life even in a household with other cats. Our “pause” was brief and HART is providing the medical care and support this cat needs to thrive!

Pause is still tiny, about 5 1/2 pounds. He is less than 2 years old and loves everyone he meets. His left eye is not functional and will be removed to prevent future problems. He has no problems with using only his right eye to find his favorite toys and people! He loves attention and has a constant purr that accompanies every human contact.

(Pause’s surgery is scheduled for 2/16. He will be available for adoption following his surgery )

If you are interested in any of our kitties, you must complete an online cat adoption application available at www.rescueahart.org/adopt/cat-application. The application will put you in touch with a HART volunteer.

All HART kittens and cats are vet checked, combo tested, spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and on flea and tick preventative.
