Patrick (FIV Positive)'s Story

FIV Positive
Patrick is a sweet 5-year-old boy with a gentle soul. He loves chin scratches, catnip mice, food of all kinds, being talked to, butt pats, and butt scratches. Patrick would love to spend the rest of his days lounging on your couch ( or on your lap) watching TV with you. He is just an outgoing, sweet, and happy guy who loves everyone! Except for dogs, Patrick HATES dogs. Patrick does not mind laid-back cats that respect his space, but he would be happiest as an only child.

Since Patrick is FIV positive, ideally, he is looking for a home where he is the only cat, or there are other FIV cats. FIV cats can live with non-FIV cats in a calm household. FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds (bad fights).

Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is one of the most common infectious diseases of cats around the world. In infected cats, FIV attacks the immune system, much like AIDS in humans. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans.

Please call the shelter at 810-657-8962 for more information.
