Patrick's Story

PATRICK
DOB: ~11/15/2017
Male, 9 LB

Patrick is a sweet little gentleman that is extremely shy. He was part of a hoarding case that we were part of in Gahanna. He was living in a home with 20+ cats and with another 40-50 living outdoors in shelters and the garage when his owner was officially diagnosed with Alzheimers. When she passed away, we moved in to rescue the ones we could catch, and trap the others. Many of the 74 cats and kittens were placed in barn homes throughout Ohio after they were spayed and neutered. Patrick was gentle and sweet and had been one of the indoor pets. However, he proved to be very very shy. He hid for months in his foster home and would not allow people to pet him for almost a year. He was so afraid. Today he enjoys his life in a foster home with other cats. He loves to be petted (but is very nervous even with people he knows)…but he comes over for scratches, pets and back rubs whenever his fosters walk into the room where he is. We don’t know what he had been through in his home with his owner as she lived with Alzheimer’s for several years before she passed away. He may never be adopted but he is living a happy safe life and we love his sweet little face…and we know he loves us right back.

----

If you are interested in learning more about this cat, please complete an online adoption application at https://form.jotform.com/251950332045046

We do not have a shelter or sanctuary. All pets are cared for in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted.

We require a home visit as part of the application process. We are only able to coordinate home visits where we have local volunteers.

All of the cats in our care and available for adoption have been rescued from shelters, the streets or from neglect or abuse situations. We do our best to determine the given breed or breeds of any cat or kitten in our program based on our experience and advice of professionals.
