Patches's Story
Patches gave birth to five kittens who were found by a local resident who called the animal control officer in his town. They got the babies but did not trap mom until a few days later. Sadly, all but one baby passed away because they had been away from her for too long. She was doing a great job of caring for her last baby but she was very scared to be in a house, inside a kennel even though it was covered. When we cleaned her litter box she shut down and stopped caring for the kitten. He was taken and bottle fed and Patches got spayed. We hoped she'd come around in her foster home but she was scared and rarely showed her face. She is now at the shelter in a large room with other cats and she's much happier. Patches is a beautiful patchy mix of siamese coloring with beautiful blue eyes. She would love to be a barn cat at a safe, secure property with at least one other cat. But she could also be a housecat as long as her adopter is okay with her being skittish. She may come around with time but there's no guarantee - she may be a "spirit cat" instead.
