Patches's Story

Patches is a very special kitty! He came to us in pretty bad condition, and it has taken us over a year to get him looking and feeling better! Since we have gotten to know him, we have learned about all of his quirks! For instance, he LOVES kittens! If he hears a kitten crying, he will come to its rescue! He loves to be in a room with kittens so he can watch them play. While he doesn't always enjoy being touched, he does enjoy being around people and will allow kittens to touch him and eat out of his food bowl which is off limits for any other critter! Patches has lived his whole life on the streets and never knew when his next meal was going to come so he has adjusted very well to indoor life and is happy to be a domesticated, indoor, Mr Mom now. His hobbies include eating, asking for food, stealing food, anticipating his next meal, eating treats in between meals and rescuing kittens. He also has started grooming himself and taking naps in sun rays on his cat tree in his spare time. He would do great being adopted with a kitten or he would also do well as a solo cat if his person worked from home or was retired. He really enjoys being near someone and he gets lonely when he is by himself. He tolerates dogs fine as long as they steer clear of his food bowl and has allowed children to pet him. He is currently on an oral steroid tablet to help keep his stools normal. The medication is very affordable, and he eats it hidden in his canned food. We love this guy and want him to have a great life so if you are able to provide a loving home, lots of food, a vet visit every year and maybe a kitten, then we might just let you adopt him :)
