Pat's Story
Meet Pat, a one-eyed visionary artist! Pat is an accomplished emerging artist seeking a new residency opportunity with a human patron who appreciates avant-garde art and having a good time.

Working primarily in toilet paper and cardboard, Pat’s artistic practice is rooted in tactile exploration. He believes no piece of paper should remain untouched and no cardboard box should go unaltered. His creative process is spontaneous, immersive, and occasionally shocking.

But Pat is so much more than his art. He is a sweet, curious, playful little goofball who loves being part of the action. Pat greets his foster mum at the door and wants to be by her side 24/7. He is instantly friendly with everyone he meets, wanting nothing more than to play and cuddle (while purring non-stop the entire time!). He's a total lap cat! Sometimes he gets a little carried away while cuddling and will give a little love nip, and although he doesn't mean any harm, because of this he may not be a good fit for a home with small children.

His unique perspective—literally—comes from seeing the world through one eye, which he considers less a limitation and more a distinctive artistic lens. And while he does *technically* have one eye left, it’s a little damaged and we're not sure how much vision he actually has. Sometimes when he has zoomies he'll run headfirst into something, but maybe that's just performance art.

His ideal residency includes an abundant supply of paper for experimental works, cardboard boxes of varying shapes and dimensions, and a human patron who will support his ongoing creative endeavors while doing their best to appreciate every new piece of art (knowing full well that our human brains will probably never be capable of fully comprehending). In exchange, Pat offers his patrons exclusive access to his studio practice, along with companionship, entertainment, purrs, and cuddles.

Pat would be fine as an only cat, or in a household with cats who keep to themselves. Pat enjoys playing with other cats, but they don't enjoy playing with him! His preferred wrestling intensity is a solid 10/10, and he has very little patience for anyone who wants to play at a lower level. In his foster home, he gets along fine with the senior cats who do their own thing and ignore him, but the younger cats who once wanted to play with him now shy away because Pat has pinned them and made them “tap out” one too many times.

Pat is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV (negative), and up-to-date on all vaccinations. If you're looking for a little more laughter, creativity, and cuddles in your life, Pat may be the kitty for you!

*A little disclaimer here to note that Pat has calmed down a bit with his art since settling into his foster home. Most of his creations were made during his first week adjusting to life in a home (a new experience for him). He has since had ample opportunity to “customize” rolls of toilet paper but has left them alone, preferring play time with people, automatic cat toys, and cuddles. He still does plenty of silly things, but he is not quite the agent of chaos that he once was. The little playful nips he gives during cuddle sessions have also decreased with time and are probably something he does when he's a bit nervous. So please don't pass him by thinking he is completely naughty, because Pat is a good cat!

Note: All of our cats are in foster homes in the Pittsburgh area, so the first step in adopting from us is to fill out an application.
