Hello! I'm Pastrami, a charming and adorable young lady with a delightful name inspired by my humble beginnings. When I was just 5 months old, I was discovered dumpster diving behind a deli in downtown Ferndale, The kind staff scooped me up in a carrier and got me to help and introduced me to a life of love and care and with Motor City Trappers. Initially, I was very hesitant to trust humans, but over the past few years, I've grown to be more appreciative with the comforts of life with people. I really am a sweet and deserving girl. I’m FIV+ but it’s really not a big deal! I’m healthy and happy and will live a long life since I’m an indoor kitty!<br/><br/>I've made some amazing progress being a house kitty, I just require a patient and experienced owner who can help me to slowly build trust at my own pace. I need gentle and calm surroundings by someone willing to give me the time. I'll eagerly approach for food and treats, and allow pets and will purr and I just love the affection especially at mealtime!<br/><br/>To truly thrive, I need a peaceful home by myself or with one nice boy kitty and with human companionship and help me to feel at ease. I’m not a huge fan of sharing with more than one cat and no dogs and young kids because that would be too much energy for me. I just need someone dedicated and committed to me. I’m a total queen and will show you just how sweet I am. With the right dose of love, nourishment, and care, I can lead a fulfilling and lengthy life, just like any other kitty! FIV is specific to cats, and FIV+ cats can enjoy a lifespan comparable to their non-FIV counterparts. Properly introduced, FIV and non-FIV cats can coexist happily and healthily. The virus is delicate, surviving only briefly outside the body and requiring significant physical interaction, such as deep bite wounds, for transmission. Everyday social interactions like grooming, sharing food and water bowls, and using litter boxes pose no known risk of transmission.
