Papaya - ET's Story

Papaya is a gorgeous girl with a big personality, and she's looking for a very specific kind of home: quiet, predictable, adultsonly, and with someone who truly understands cats with boundaries. She is absolutely not a beginner cat.

Papaya loves affection on her terms. When she's in the mood, she is incredibly sweet—snuggly, kissy, and eager to be close. But she's also a cat who needs her person to stay engaged and pay attention to her body language. When she gets overstimulated, she can go from cuddly to “tiny crocodile” mode quickly.

She has been returned twice for biting, and she has bitten her foster as well. With time, consistency, and learning her signals, her foster has figured out how to manage her safely—but she will always be a cat who requires awareness and respect for her boundaries. She cannot live with kids or other pets, and she should not sleep in bed with her person.

Papaya isn't a cat you can trust blindly, but she is a cat who can bond deeply with someone who understands her. In the right home—with a patient, experienced, catsavvy human—she has the potential to be a loyal, loving companion who just needs someone willing to meet her where she is.

If you're the kind of person who appreciates a spicy, complex cat and finds joy in earning the trust of a challenging little soul, Papaya might be your girl.

DOB: 09/01/2022
