Pantera's Story

My beloved owner was deported. Can you help me heal my heartbreak?

I'm Pantera, a 4 year young lady. We were my owner's babies. But then... he was taken from us. Deported. And just like that, our safe, warm world shattered. Even though the staff and volunteers tried all they could, I was so scared and shut down at the shelter. I barely ate. It was all so weird and overwhelming. I needed a safe place to temporarily land, so I went into a foster home.

In foster, it took me some time to realize I was once again in a home. I cautiously explore my new environment and familiarize myself with some delightful comforts: cozy hiding spaces, entertaining windows, and a warm, soft bed. My foster home also has other confident cats and they are a tremendous help in reassuring me everything is OK, so it would be great if my future home had a feline companion that can also welcome me in.

All through this trauma I had by my side Pappy. While he is not my littermate brother, we came from the same home and have undergone this heartbreaking journey together. While we are not bonded and would be fine being separated, it would be nice to have him come along with me.

My future family will need to understand that I may take longer to acclimate compared to other cats. After all I've been through, patience is key on my path for a second chance. I hope you may be the key I need to heal my heart and reassure me that the love I once had is possible again.

As a special promotion, cats like Pantera that have been waiting 6+ months for a home receive 3 months of Revolution flea, tick, ear mite, and heartworm preventatives- a $79 value!________________________________________________

If you would like to meet one of our adoptables or learn more about them, please submit an application at https://animalrescueneworleans.org/adoptfoster/.

**Note: Our shelter is open by scheduled appointment only after your application is approved.
