Paisley's Story
Meet Paisley — A Quiet Soul Still Waiting for Her Safe Place 🖤🤍🧡
Born on August 17, 2024, Paisley is a beautiful domestic short-haired calico who came into rescue after being found trying to survive on her own as a stray. Since then, she has patiently waited for someone to truly understand her.
Paisley has had potential adopters over time, but none have quite been the right fit for the shy and independent cat she has grown into. Since intake, Paisley has started showing that she is a little rough around the edges while waiting for her forever home. Rescue life has been difficult on her emotionally, and over time she has become more withdrawn. She now prefers hiding away from people for most of the day and usually only comes out comfortably around feeding time. Human touch is also something she has slowly started enjoying less compared to when she was younger.
While this may not fit the traditional “cuddly house cat” story, Paisley still deserves a loving and understanding home just as much as any other cat.
We truly believe the right fit for Paisley may look a little different. She may thrive as a working cat or barn/farm companion for the right family — somewhere she can safely express her natural instincts, independence, and shyness without pressure. After a proper adjustment period of at least 3 months in a secure environment, Paisley may benefit from safe outdoor access where she can hunt, explore, and simply exist in a way that feels comfortable to her.
Paisley is:
• Spayed
• Up to date on vaccines
• Combo tested negative (FIV/FeLV)
• Fecal tested negative
• Dewormed
• Current on flea prevention
• Microchipped
Not every rescue cat is meant to fit perfectly into the mold of a social lap cat — and that’s okay. Paisley is searching for the rare person willing to meet her where she is instead of forcing her to become something she’s not.
