Updated 1-6-2026 This handsome guy is Paintbrush. He is quiet, gets along with other cats, is curious, and really wants to be in the know but struggles with shyness. He has come a long way since he first came a few years ago when he was really shy, and he is now occasionally greeting us at the door and even enjoying being petted. He is looking for a calm and quiet home with a loving and patient person, friendly cats are okay too. He is brother Tumbleweed makes a perfect pair with him if considering two. C.A.R.A (Citizens for Animal Rescue and Adoption)'s Adoption Policy

Please email citizensanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application or use our online link. Once an application is approved you will be contacted to set up an appointment to visit the animals. If you let us know what you have in mind (age, gender, personality), we'll have several ready to meet. We are open to the public Monday-Friday 1-4PM and Saturday/other times by appointment. Please call 217-655-4353 or 217-799-8858 for appointments and questions. After you've met and decided on the pet for you, you will fill out the final paperwork and you will be able to take your pet home. All adopters must be able to meet and pick up their pet as we do not offer transportation. All pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

C.A.R.A. is a 501(c)3 non-for-profit, No Kill animal shelter and rescue for homeless, injured/neglected or surrendered animals. Through community donations we are able to provide high quality care and rehabilitation for animals in our care.
