Otter's Story
IMPORTANT - HOW TO APPLY: If you're interested in meeting Otter, you need to first submit an application on our website: winonahumane.org/adopt. Our Feline Director will then contact you to set up a time to visit (our building is operating with scheduled visits). Please email with any questions about Otter or his adoption process!

Personality description:
There are so many good days ahead for Otter — he just needs the right person to come along and help him there! Otter is a young fellow who had his world turned upside down when he and his six cat companions found themselves in the shelter. Their family could no longer care for them, and it was a difficult time for everyone involved. Otter found the transition particularly tough and is still working to build trust before showing his true self.

So far we’ve learned that Otter is extra treat-motivated and will never turn down a Churu treat, bravely venturing out of his cat cave bed if necessary (although he does prefer to dine in his napping location). Otter also LOVES his brother Porcupine; the two are hardly ever apart, opting to spend their days snuggled up together for comfort and reassurance.

Otter may not be the ideal match for a busy, lively home, but a quiet and cozy placement is right up his alley. He may eventually become quite the snuggle buddy once a trusting bond is formed. Otter will need a patient and kind person to help him acclimate, and we know that special someone is out there. Apply on our website to meet him!

Additional bio info: male, Domestic Short Hair, brown tabby, approximately 3.5 years old, up-to-date on vaccinations, FIV/FeLV-, neutered, microchipped
