Oscar the Meow-Must be adopted as a buddy cat's Story
Meet little Oscar...Oscar the Meow!

Oscar is a little kitten with a big personality. He was the only surviving kitten from a litter of seven who were born outdoors. He was rescued at just over a week of age, and although he was in rough shape, he has thrived ever since.

Oscar is extremely outgoing and believes that every place is his to explore and conquer. He has lots of energy and regularly wears out his foster brothers. Oscar loves to play rough and benefits greatly from having cats around who aren’t reactive but can put him in his place when he gets too rough.

Oscar seems to perceive his humans as his parents and often wants to roughhouse with them (e.g., biting their hands, forearms, etc.). He needs redirection with kicker toys and small stuffed animals to redirect his prey drive. Wand toys and even automatic toys are also often effective distractions. Oscar would do well in a household with no young children while he works on his socialization.

Oscar is also extremely entertaining. He will leap off all four paws when he’s in play/hunt mode and something moves unexpectedly. He also does impressive flips while chasing wand toys, and walks around holding toys in his mouth that are half his size. He is also incredible at leaping large distances between pieces of furniture or cat trees. Oscar’s antics have brought lots of laughter to his foster family.

Oscar is also very sweet. He loves to sleep on his human’s chest or lap. He also loves to greet guests and to be picked up to get more closely acquainted. He also has some very endearing habits, like wrestling his favorite baby blanket, lying with his arms tucked into a kleenex box, and purring while he eats.

Oscar will need another young, energetic playmate who likes to roughhouse. Oscar is happy to ignore dogs that ignore him and should be able to adapt to a dog that notices him as long as that dog will not react to being treated like another playmate.

Oscar will also need humans with thick skin (literally and/or metaphorically) who are willing to patiently redirect him EVERY time he forgets that their arms and hands are not toys. Older kids/teens who can do this would also be okay, but Oscar would not be good company for younger children.

If you’ve been looking for a kitten who will keep you on your toes, entertain you, and eventually settle in for a long cuddle/nap with you, Oscar could be the perfect kitten for you.

Like all ACR cats, Oscar the meow is is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.
