Oscar's Story

UPDATE: Oscar has now been with us for about three months. His sister was recently adopted and he is now waiting for someone to give him a chance at his forever home. Oscar has truly blossomed since being with us, he has had a fairly hard past year but he has shown that with time anything is possible. If you would like to meet Oscar please give us a call at 419-385-7433.

Oscar is looking for a new forever home. His story is a bit on the sad side, him and his sister were brought back to our hospital because of a death in the family. He took some time to get used to his new environment here but has acclimated well as he was first adopted from us years ago.

With time and patience we believe Oscar would be okay in a home with other animals . Oscar does well with adult cats and tolerates kittens who want to be in his personal space.

Oscar is on a full time prescription diet of Hills Science Biome wet food, he has had constipation issues in the past. There have been times he has needed to come in for fluids, anti-nausea injections and enemas. Since being with us while on this diet it has helped him from needing these types of treatment.

Oscar is a sweet soul, older cat, loves to be pet, his long hair requires brushing, he is very handsome. He is food motivated, likes to hide inside of things and just watch what is going on. He does like to follow us around the kennel area, a bit on the curious side.

Oscar has been front declawed, neutered, de-wormed, up-to date on all vaccinations and on monthly prevention. He is ready for his new forever home.
If you are interested in an Adoption Application for Oscar please contact us at 419-385-7433 or Hartmanvet3924@gmail.com
All applications have to be approved before "Meet and Greets" will be scheduled. Our meet and greet hours are 9am-4pm Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
We require all other pets within the home to be up to date on vaccines.
*If you have any other questions, please contact our office.

Hartman Veterinary Hospital's Adoption Policy
The adoption fee for our cats ranges from $100-400. It is also non-refundable. If a cat/kitten is not already de-clawed, you may request to not have that procedure done. If you want a cat/kitten to be de-clawed on all four feet, we will do the additional rear feet at cost. We do laser de-claws only at our facility and prefer they are done here. If for any reason one of our cats does not work out at your home, we insist that you bring them back to our hospital and not re-home them yourself. For this reason we ask that you live in the tri-state area of Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana only. We also need the phone number of your regular veterinarian for a quick reference check. We require all our cats who are adopted to remain indoor only pets!!! We adopt out to anyone who meets our requirements. The safety and well-being of children and pets is of the utmost importance here at Hartman. Small children and kittens have been seriously injured when placed together.
