Oscar's Story

Meet Oscar.

Rescued from the notorious West End colony in 2022, Oscar spent the past two years in foster care with his beloved best friend, Bug. The two were inseparable-sharing naps, playtime, and endless cuddles-until Bug passed away recently. Since then, Oscar has been especially lonely and extra clingy, following his foster family everywhere and soaking up every bit of affection he can get. Now, he's hoping to find a new feline best friend to fill the empty space in his heart.

Oscar is about 6.5 years old and has CH (cerebellar hypoplasia), which gives him a wobbly, clumsy gait that only adds to his charm. Despite his mellow demeanor, he has a playful side, especially when catnip is involved, and will serenade you with his quiet, raspy meows. He's FeLV positive and has a history of GI issues, which are well-managed with a daily steroid. He gets bi-annual ultrasounds to keep an eye on everything and his vet believes he is in remission.

His adoption fee has been waived due to his special needs and FeLV status. What he needs most is a loving home, and ideally a gentle cat companion, where he can feel safe, adored, and part of a duo again.

Could you be the one to give Oscar his next best friend and forever home?

Oscar is about 6.5 years old, neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, and microchipped. Both cats are FeLV positive (confirmed via PCR).

Oakland TNR Coalition's Adoption Policy
Adopting a cat is a big responsibility and commitment, but it's also one of the biggest acts you can ever do for an animal in need. Each cat in our care has its own story and background. All are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, flea-treated, dewormed, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative (unless stated otherwise). Because of the time, care, and vetting put into each cat, our adoption fee is $110 for one cat over one year old or $200 for two, and $140 for one cat under one year old or $260 for two. Filling out this application does not guarantee that you will be approved for adoption. Due to the influx of applications, we may not be able to reply to all applicants. By filling out this application you agree that all information on this form is correct and to our adoption process which includes a home tour, a vet reference (personal reference if you do not have a vet), and landlord approval if you are a renter.
