Oscar's Story

Don't let Oscar's tuxedo fool you - this sweet, social boy is anything but formal! He may be shy at first but once he knows he's safe and loved he is 100% invested in being your bestie. Oscar loves to chat and can carry on a conversation while he escorts you to the kitchen to check the food situation. When you sit down anywhere, Oscar knows that's the signal for naptime and he will hop right up on your lap and roll around until he's comfortable. Sometimes he ends up under the covers, or on your feet, or with his face tucked under your arm. If you're not ready to sit down for a nap yet, he's happy to hang out with his sister, Emmy, or do speed-runs around the house to make sure everything else is running smoothly. Oscar and his sister Emmy are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. We have a special adoption fee for this pair for $200. Both have been altered, microchipped, and are UTD on all vaccines. CARE-Cat Adoption and Rescue Efforts Inc.'s Adoption Policy

Our adoption process is simple but thorough. You select a feline who touches your heart and fill out an adoption application at care-cats.org/application. Filling out the application is the quickest way to start the adoption process and is required of all adoptions. After review and approval by our volunteers, you will be contacted by an adoption consultant to discuss the adoption process. Please allow a few days for this process, as CARE is an all volunteer rescue – each of us is giving our own personal time and we appreciate your patience. You will then be in contact with the foster to discus and meet your chosen cat/kitten. Should you decide to adopt, an adoption contract is then signed with an adoption donation attached (this donation helps defray the medical costs incurred) Each cat/kitten has spent its rescued time in a private home in foster care being loved and assessed for temperament and personality, needs, likes and dislikes. Our adoption counselors and fosters will help you to adopt a feline that will fit well and become a permanent member of your family. Adoption fees (fees contribute to only a portion of the cost of each cat’s medical and living expenses) Please check with an adoption specialist for adoption fees. Occasionally we offer specials on adoption fees. As Part of the Adoption Fee Your NEW Family Member Has Received: * A Full Health Check up by a Veterinarian * Treated, if needed, for any Problems with Ear/Eyes/Teeth * Treated for Worms, Fleas and Ticks * Tested for FIV and FELV * Treated for any Medical or Surgical Problems as Needed * Given a Series of FRVCP Immunizations (additional booster shots may be required for kittens) * A Rabies Vaccination if over 4 months of age. * A Spay or Neuter (if a kitten is too young, a free spay/neuter clinic appointment is offered to the adopter). * All cats are Microchipped Our goal is to place all rescued felines in a permanent, appropriate, safe and loving home.
