Oreo's Story

Oreo is a gentle 13-year-old with a calm spirit and a heart full of love. She was recently surrendered to the Jersey City shelter through no fault of her own—her beloved owner fell on hard times and became homeless, forced to live in her car. Wanting the best for Oreo, she made the heartbreaking decision to give her up in hopes that Oreo would find the safe, stable home she deserves.

Despite all she’s been through, Oreo remains affectionate and easygoing. She loves cozy napping spots, pets & cuddles, and the company of people. She’s perfectly fine being picked up and carried—whether it’s moving her from room to room or snuggling her in your arms. She takes change in stride and has adjusted beautifully to her foster home. She’d do best in a loving environment where she can enjoy her golden years in peace and comfort.

Oreo does well with other pets after a proper introduction, but she’s also perfectly happy to be the only cat soaking up all the attention.

Senior cats like Oreo are true gems—mellow, grateful, and full of love.
