Orca's Story

Orca is the "killer whale" of cuteness! But don't worry, because the only thing she wants to take over is your ability to resist becoming a crazy cat person! She is bonded with her picture-perfect sister, Pixel. Together they make the perfect pod of kitten love & joy! Orca wants nothing more than to swim in an ocean of human love, companionship, & affection. She will paw at the air when she hears your voice, & toddle on over the moment she sees you! Orca also loves to be sung to, but only if you have a terrible singing voice & absolutely no musical training. Since she's been raised in a household with children & lots of other kittens & cats, she is very confident & easygoing. Although she has no experience yet with dogs, she would most likely get along just fine with a gentle, friendly pooch. She enjoys playing "Kitten Football," where a child (or adult!) throws a toy while she races her foster siblings to see who can get to it first. In fact, she's even won this season's MVP (Most Valuable Paw). Orca has highly specialized hunting skills- with interactive toys, comfy oversized beds, lickable treats, & a window bed being some of her favorite prey. However, her most coveted prey is human attention- so be prepared for lots of snuggles & kitty kisses! Orca will sit at your feet when she wants to be picked up, & will put out her paw to request pets. She was raised by a mere human, whom bottle fed her & doted on her since the day she was born. She will therefore need to remain an indoor-only cat in order to keep her safe. Orca has become quite fond of human creature comforts, & will require a home with lots of human interaction. She is also a whale of a snugglebug, & is looking for a household where she can share the bed with her humans. Some of her favorite things to do are: provide you a living fur coat, attack the bed sheets, keep the clean laundry warm, & offer you companionship in the bathroom. But you better be careful because she's the apex predator of hearts, meaning that she will steal yours away. The only thing is, you won't regret it!!

Contra Costa Humane Society's Adoption Policy
CCHS has animals available for adoption through a number of different avenues.  Many of our kittens and all dogs are cared for in loving foster homes until they are adopted.  Teenage, adult, senior and special-needs cats reside at Kitty Corner, an on-site, private cat shelter where cats are allowed to free-roam at all times, lounge in sunny windows and on comfy cat towers, and play to their heart's galore.  Similarly, we also have animals available for adoption through our Re-Homing Assistance Program, where we help to advertise animals that caregivers are no longer able to keep. If you are interested in meeting any of the animals listed on our website, please complete an adoption application unless otherwise noted! Our business office and Kitty Corner are located at 171 Mayhew Way, Suite 101 in Pleasant Hill, CA 94523. Kitty Corner houses adult, senior, and special-needs cats (sometimes teenage kittens). Kitty Corner is open for adoptions on Saturday, Sunday & Mo
