Orange 's Story
Orange is a work in progress and he’d like to remind you that progress is still progress, even if it occasionally involves some scratching when being picked up. He really wants to be loved, he’s just figuring out how to accept it without panicking like someone’s stealing his identity.

These days, Orange has decided that laps are more than just “safe zones”, they’re actually his new favorite place. He loves to curl up on my lap in the evenings, soaking up gentle pets and quiet time. Once he settles in, he leans into affection in the sweetest, softest ways, as long as you respect his pace and let him be the one to say, “Okay, human, now you may adore me.”

He’s come a long way from his “hiss first, ask questions never” mindset, but he’s still cautious and easily startled. That means he’ll need a calm, patient human who understands that building trust takes time and ideally, one without small kids or a deep need to scoop him up.

Orange leans heavily on the steady presence of his quiet sister, Destiny, and the two are deeply bonded. They must be adopted together. With time, love, and zero sudden movements, Orange will continue to blossom and together, he and Destiny just might become your favorite little ex-feral duo.

Adoption fee $200

* We do not allow same-day adoptions. * This is because we want our adopters to consider the commitment of owning a kitty. We are also a volunteer-run organization. We do not always have someone available to process the adoption agreement and medical records at the time of the in-person meet and greet. Thank you for understanding! Our goal is to process adoptions within 24-hours. So, if you have scheduled a meet and greet, you can help expedite the adoption process by sending us your walk through video of your home to our email address adoptions@mariospaw.org. Thank you!

What is covered in our adoption fee?

Mario's Paw felines come: Microchipped, Spayed/Neutered, FIV/FELV tested, UTD on age-appropriate vaccines, de-wormed, and flea-treated. * We do not permit any feline to be adopted without receiving a spay or neuter surgery. *

In addition to the above, your adoption fee helps us cover supplies, admin costs, and vet bills that arise with all of the kittens that come into our care. We take in many medical cases that require extra surgeries such as eye enucleations and amputations, specialist visits, and imaging. Because of the adoption fees, we are able to bring in more medically needy felines!

If interested in adopting a pair of kittens, please note that on your application as priority is given to those adopting a pair!

The adoption application can be filled out here: https://forms.gle/zR62zNUFx23eYU647

If you are interested, our adoption process consists of:
- a submitted application
- meet-and-greet in-person
- video walk through of the main areas of your home
- feline medical records sent via email
- signed adoption agreement
- application fee submitted via Zelle

For more photos and videos, visit our social media pages!
Facebook.com/mariospawrescue
Instagram.com/mariospawanimalrescue/
Tiktok.com/@mariospawrescue
