A few months ago, some kind-hearted Good Samaritans reached out after spotting an injured cat living off the side of a highway in a drainpipe. ? After several days of patience and teamwork, our rescue team was finally able to trap her safely and bring her to Simba’s Sanctuary. ??<br/><br/>Once examined, our vet discovered her wrist had been broken and healed incorrectly. Her left leg now stays lifted — and she hops around like the sweetest little bunny! ? Though it may look different, she’s in no pain at all — it’s just how her body adapted. Removing the leg would cause more trauma than good, so leaving it be is the kindest and safest option for her. ??<br/><br/>After everything she’s been through, Opal is still learning to fully trust people, but she’s thriving in our socialization program. ? Once she realizes you’re safe, she melts into your hand for pets, flops over with joy, and gives the happiest little tail wags! ??
