Opal's Story

Born March 2, 2025, Opal is a spicy girl who’s a little on the shy side. But once she’s had time to settle in, her playful personality shines. She loves chasing the laser and climbing to high places to show off her skills.

She’s a bit unsure around new people, but if you crouch down and give her space, she’ll come over for some gentle pets. She’s also a big fan of mealtime and is highly treat motivated. Opal must be adopted with one of her siblings--Aquamarine or Sapphire--, or go to a home with another young, playful cat.

Adoption fee is $350 for a pair or $200 if she’s joining a home with another young cat.

If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out the adoption link below.

https://www.familiarhearts.org/adoptable-pets

Familiar Hearts Animal Society's Adoption Policy
We always have potential adopters fill out our adoption application first so we can first vet them and make sure we approve of them as adopters before then inviting them to meet the animal(s) they are interested in. We feel this not only saves time for our fosters, it helps us get to know the applicant better and better be able to match them with the potential pet that is best for them. We always make sure everyone has a lot of time to deeply consider the adoption before finalizing it. The adoption is considered finalized after the adoption contract is reviewed and signed and the fee is paid. We then tranfer all the vet records and microchip information to the new family. We also offer behavioral support before and after adoption and one free training session with our dog trainer for dog adopters.
