Meet Onyx — a short-haired, solid black sweetheart who was lovingly raised as a bottle baby. Onyx is velvety, snuggly, and utterly devoted to people. She thrives on attention, loves chin scratches and long petting sessions, and will happily curl up on top of her favorite person for naps and cuddles. <br/><br/>Her favorite activities: Being petted and held, chasing a wand toy and snuggling as close as possible (preferably on your chest).<br/><br/>Best home: Onyx would be happiest as an only cat with a parent who has lots of time to spend cuddling and playing. She’s friendly with other cats and dogs but her first love is people. Safe Haven for Animals's Adoption Policy

Our Adoption Process We have a clear and well-structured process in place to find the best possible homes for our animals in need. This process begins with you filling out our Adoption Request Form designed to collect important details and insights from potential adopters so we can match you with the best possible pet. Once complete, we move forward by setting up a visit for you to meet our cats in person. One of our Adoption Coordinators will provide a tour of our facility and introduce you to our available cats. Our adoption coordinators have extensive knowledge of every cat and can help answer questions about individual personalities, habits, and special needs. Should you decide to choose a specific cat during this meeting, we then schedule a home visit to deliver your new pet, ensure it’s a safe and suitable environment, and provide a care kit for the new pet. To support a smooth transition, we also make a follow-up call about a week later to see how everything is going to ensure both the adopter and the cat are settling in well together.
